Homestead

Indicates if the property has a homestead exemption. Requires a "Y" for yes or an "N" for no.
The homestead exemption can be confirmed through Realist or the county tax collector’s Web site. Buyers must apply for a homestead exemption; they are not automatically granted.
Note
If a property already has a homestead exemption and is sold during the tax year, the benefit of the homestead exemption remains with the property through the end of the tax year.
Example: A property has a homestead exemption and is sold on June 20, 2004. The homestead exemption remains with the property for the 2004 tax year. For continued benefit from the homestead exemption, the Buyer must file for the homestead exemption under the Buyer’s name.
